Ok, this I buy. If people agree, we can discuss the
scope and impact of the new route. If it's not too
big a job I'll do the back-out by implementing it or

Sounds good. Let's figure out where we want to go, and live with this
in the interim. If we can't agree by, say, the end of MeetBSD, then

Yes, please. I don't know if you envision it to apply
to all platforms, but do consider embedded PowerPC if
not.
