Dear colleagues,

Hope you are well and well-recovered from the holiday period!

We would like to invite you to a special session on 6DoF audio to be held at
the 2023 International Conference on Immersive and 3D Audio (I3DA,
www.i3da2023.org (http://www.i3da2023.org/)). The conference will be hosted by
the University of Bologna from September 5-7, 2023
(canary:event?ts=715597205.00). The conference will be focused on all aspects
of immersive audio from automotive to room acoustics, and from architectural
heritage to virtual auditory environments.

Building upon the success of its first edition in i3DA 2021, the special
session on 6DoF audio will bring together researchers from academia and
industry to explore the latest developments in 6DoF immersive audio, including
advances in capture, rendering, coding/compression, and perception of 6DoF
audio content. Topics of interest for this special session include but are not
limited to:

- 6DoF sound capture and rendering techniques
- Spatial audio processing algorithms
- Audio-visual integration in extended reality with specific emphasis on 6DoF
applications
- Human perception and subjective assessment of 6DoF audio
- Applications of 6DoF immersive audio in gaming, film, and other industries

The submission deadline for abstracts is March 31 2023
(canary:event?ts=701946005.00). Acceptance of abstracts will be announced on
April 7, 2023 (canary:event?ts=702550805.00). The full paper deadline is June
15, 2023 (canary:event?ts=708512405.00). All papers will undergo peer review.

As in the previous edition of i3DA, the proceedings will be submitted to the
IEEE for publication in IEEEXplore and will also be indexed on Scopus and Web
of Science.

More information about i3DA is available at
https://www.i3da2023.org/conference-overview/

Hope to see you in beautiful Bologna for this exciting conference and special
session to be held at the oldest university in the world that is still active.

Kind regards,

Huseyin Hacihabiboglu and Zoran Cvetkovic
