Dr. Anderson -

Thank you for the note.

I thought it might provide the excuse for yet another "black box" or
"black instrument" to explore.

How did Roger Moore as (James Bond) put it "A View To A Kill", to
Stacy Sutton - "I've been know to dabble."

This is a picture of a modified Zoom H2 - that I slapped together with
the help of a friend's 3 D printed capsule mount. (attached)

I recorded a lot of rehearsals of my chorus - the WAshington Men's
Camerata, with a variety of microphone/recorder positions.

I've been working to get a Brahma microphone calibrated, and have had
this USB device, for while, but not a chance yet to work with it as
much as possible.

I have had success with a long USB cable - 20 feet.

I'm sure the designers had cell phones in mind, not PCs. I'm
disappointed in that software updates have stagnated.

I like the "point of shoot" characterization of these beasts, but when
I think of what was useable signal-to-noise in my acoustical
measurements in the 80s, 30 to 35 dB is sufficient to get some real
numbers.

I can't navigate their website sufficiently to see if there has been
some thought on acoustical software. I'm surprised of these
companies, would take a look at something like this - and develop an
GUI interface
