I also don't know about hosted streaming services - but I do know that
hosting my own files and playing them from my own web page using an
HTML5 widget (or a player that skins such a widget) works just fine if
I replace a stereo file with a four-channel file (why waste bandwidth
on empty channels?).  My files are decoded to a square ("quad") speaker
layout, and play just fine in any browser on a system with correctly
set up multichannel audio.
