I also don't know about hosted streaming services - but I do know that hosting my own files and playing them from my own web page using an HTML5 widget (or a player that skins such a widget) works just fine if I replace a stereo file with a four-channel file (why waste bandwidth on empty channels?). My files are decoded to a square ("quad") speaker layout, and play just fine in any browser on a system with correctly set up multichannel audio.
