Recording natural soundscapes in ambisonics is damn difficult because you need to be close enough to the action, to the have a good signal-to-noise ratio, but at the same time, I like to hear the overall soundscape. I use a prototype made by Reynolds Microphones. Jack Reynolds is a super cool dude and he is prototyping lots of stuff. This mic has much lower self-noise than any other ambi mic you find around.
