There are HDMI audio inserters <https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13347&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8tGc-qfY2QIVjVmGCh0NGwIrEAQYASABEgKBzvD_BwE> that will embed audio (in this case Toslink for for surround). and de-embedders if you need to get audio out of an HDMI stream. Just FYI, going straight from the computer's easier.
