Thanks for all the advice here on room resonances, some of it contributed,
albeit obliquely, to the sound installation . We ended up having in excess
of 600 people, and although it was a bit (ie extremely) weird experimental
music it went down well.

One thing I really noticed when running test tones (sine sweeps) on the
site was that a kind of "whispering gallery" effect where the higher
frequencies appeared to rotate right arounf the Giant's Ring (a neolithic
raised bank henge about 200m in diameter)
