As an aside, its a point of particular annoyance that there is no test tone generator on the ST350 or ST450 control units to allow for proper level setting in a DAW, and thus to compensate for wobbly inputs on the recorder.
I asked for it, and nothing happened on the redesign of the control unit. Fortunately, I have a Sounddevices 788T where I can gang 4 inputs together, but a “sanity check” from the control unit through to DAW would be reassuring. This doesn’t impact mic calibration of course, but I just wanted to have a rant and get it off my chest :-) jon On 14/09/2015 10:23, "Sursound on behalf of James Anthony Enda Bates" <sursound-boun...@music.vt.edu on behalf of bate...@tcd.ie> wrote: >Hey everyone, > Jörn I was thinking that too, but I would have assumed that the test >tones, which are intended to be used to calibrate the inputs on the >recorder, wouldn't have included this -3dB reduction on the W channel, even >if the actual b-format signal coming from the microphone did? > >John: I've emailed TSL myself last week but havnt heard anything back as of >yet. >enda >-------------- next part -------------- >An HTML attachment was scrubbed... >URL: ><https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/private/sursound/attachments/20150914/ab1cb737/attachment.html> >_______________________________________________ >Sursound mailing list >Sursound@music.vt.edu >https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound - unsubscribe here, edit >account or options, view archives and so on. _______________________________________________ Sursound mailing list Sursound@music.vt.edu https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound - unsubscribe here, edit account or options, view archives and so on.
