Nokia is announcing Ozo, a next-generation camera for capturing audio and video in 360 degrees. Nokia intends for the device, which is now in its preproduction phase, to become the default mode of shooting virtual-reality experiences for Hollywood, the media, and the advertising industry. A formal launch, along with a final sale price, is planned for the fall. But Ozo is not a consumer camera -- the device is expected to sell in the mid-five figures.

Best,

Stefan

P.S.: Thanks, well spotted and relevant...

"Along with the OZO announcement, Palo Alto-based VR production company Jaunt announced a commitment to support OZO, both by offering the camera for use in Jaunt Studios and by supporting content produced with OZO through its post-production services. Last month Jaunt gave us a first look at their own next-generation camera codenamed NEO."

Best,

Stefan
