Energy decoding is better once you're outside the 'radius of reconstruction', which is measured in wavelengths. This is the main reason for decreasing the crossover frequency (of a dual band decoder) if you want a larger listening area. Full-band energy decoding will give acceptable (but suboptimal) results, while systematic (rV = 1) decoding certainly doesn't. Ciao, -- FA A world of exhaustive, reliable metadata would be an utopia.
