We consider it a truly excellent microphone, with exemplary sound quality - they really seem to have got it right this time. I haven't done any polar diagram tests yet, but decoded recordings sound pretty good. It's also very very robust and all its accessories seem to be as well. The fact that, unlike the original 250, it actually produces proper line level, balanced outputs makes it much easier to use than that ever was. Connectors are a bit expensive, but, on the other hand, unlike the Tetramic's mini-XLR's, they are seriously robust and are actually available. It is also known that the ST450 will work happily in Antarctic levels of cold!

Seriously considering trading up to an ST450. I'd appreciate comments from

Many thanks,
