For some real-life signals (understand, of "mono-centered-bass" shame),
BACCH filters as described in Choueiri's paper won't simply output any low
frequencies. I don't know how RACE performs in this case, though, probably
Ralph could tell us.

I'm not sure if I understood the whole mathematical formalism in there, but
Choueiri states that BACCH filters end up maximizing out-of-phase response
in low range (the so-called "first band"), and as a consequence in-phase
response will be something like -20 or -30dB lower.

So eventually a mono bass, ie. totally in phase, would simply be cancelled
out. I suspect Choueiri's filters will work well for typical bass sounds
only if the XTC is bypassed for low frequencies.

Maybe the theorical filter works with classical dummy-head recordings (or
with water sounds!), but I'm curious to hear the sonic collision between
BAC(c)H and Massive-Attack-style dub bass...
