Hello again, George! The Zoom H2 is a wonderful piece of hardware at the price. Not only do you get to record 4 channels, but they throw in 4 microphones too! At least two of the members of this forum have posted results or descriptions of their efforts to turn the Zoom H2 recordings into (horizontal-only) B-format. I believe that the principle difficulty in get good B-format signals is the orientation of the microphone capsules inside the H2. It's not the fact that the capsules have an angular separation of 90 degrees in the front and 120 degrees in the back. It's the fact that the right capsules are on the left and the left capsules are on the right. If I were to use the H2 recorder with the intention of making recordings to turn into B-format, then my first move would be to disassemble the recorder and move the capsules into a square orientation. If you are willing to have at your recorder with a screwdriver and perhaps some glue, then the results would be much better.
