Quite some years ago (at least 7 years ago), I installed the FlashBlock extension in my SeaMonkey. I set the default to enable FlashBlock. After Adobe announced the demise of Flash, I paid attention to whether or not I disabled the extension. The last Web site using Flash that I visited was the BBC news site, for which I had to disable FlashBlock. Sometime in the second half of 2020, however, I was able to view BBC videos by enabling HTML5 Media (normally disabled in my configuration) without disabling FlashBlock. Thereafter, I did not need to disable FlashBlock, which means I did not need Flash. I removed Flash from my configuration on that horrible day: 6 January 2021. I then found many instances of Windows registry entries for Flash that did not get removed. I manually removed many of them, but I left several because I was not sure if they were indeed merely for Flash. A week later, I do not miss Flash. -- David E. Ross <http://www.rossde.com/>.
