I SeaMonkey "is the best program for this purpose", why are you posting
via Google Groups and/or Google Chrome rather than via SeaMonkey's Mail
& News function

Win7 User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0)
Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.49.5 Build identifier: 20190609032134

Linux User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0)
Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.49.1 Build identifier: 20171015235623

Because I got an error message there ( Error sending the message. The mail
server replied: Incorrect authentication data. Please check if your e-mail
address is correct in the mail settings and repeat the process. ) and I did not
feel like taking care of it today.

Apart from that it was answered via Seamonkey - thanks to the browser ;-)

What happes next is simple. 2.53.1 Hopefully in the next 2 weeks. Was cooked already but a showstopper bug no one noticed in the last months popped up and we do another build today or tomorrow. Then we will continue with 2.53.x builds with backports on a regular basis until 2.57 is ready. Then we will continue with 2.57.x until we figure out if it is time to close shop or adapt the current Mozilla changes.

Not enough developers and supporters around so don't expect a sudden big marketing campaign. Most people don't care anyway these days so it will stay around as long as possible as a nice browser and email client. The people left are still dedicated to continue because we just love SeaMonkey :)
