I have one message in an otherwise empty mail folder that I would
like to recover, but SM doesn't see it. If I open the folder in
Notepad I can see it. Is there a flag I can flip so SM won't think
it's deleted anymore?
Thanks.
Perhaps, you still have a copy in the corresponding trash folder.
No, the reason it was marked as deleted was that I moved it to another
folder (move = copy to target + delete from source). When I later
deleted it from the target folder and closed SM, Trash was
automatically emptied, but the original source folder was not
compacted, so there was still a hidden copy there, marked as deleted.
So the problem was to reveal the copy in the source folder, to unmark
it as deleted.
The solution that I posted in my second message worked, you might like
to read it before commenting further.
Trash is emptied only if the corresponding SM settings says so.
I have this option reset so I am the only one who can delete from the trash.
and I think that even while deleted the mail is still in the trash
folder where we can apply the resurrection :-)
