Hi,
I have upgraded my Seamonkey 2.49.4 32-bit to the 2.49.5 64-bit
version provided by the http://www.wg9s.com/comm-esr/ website,
and got very satisfied with its performance, specially when
running with in-memory cache in a Windows 7 machine with 32 GB of
RAM memory.
However, I am facing just one big roadblock: The Lightning 5.4
extension stopped working.
Is there any way to have that extension working in Seamonkey
64-bit ?
Thanks in advance,
Rubens
Rubens, what do you mean by "stopped working"??
Have you had a look at Tools->Add-ons Manager to see if it may have
been Disabled?? Does the wg9s SeaMonkey 2.49.5 even show that it
knows Lightning is installed, let alone Enabled??
Hi Daniel,
What I meant was:
After uninstalling Seamonkey 32-bit (but preserving my profile
folder), installing Seamonkey 64-bit, creating a new profile with the
same name and at the same location and copying all files from my
original profile back again, all other extensions reappeared working
normally, while the Lightning 5.4 one appeared as installed but
disabled (by itself). And there was no button to re-enable it, just
the Remove button was there.
Later on I learned that Lightning is one of a few extensions which
contains binaries, so now I suspect those binaries may be 32-bit
ones, thus no compatible with the 64-bit version of Seamonkey.
Ah!! O.K., thanks for that. I'm not sure that a 32-bit extension
wouldn't work with 64-bit SM, but who knows!! And I see FRG has made
suggestions for you to try so, hopefully, you'll be sorted soon! ;-)
