Hi All,

New to the list but a long term user of Seamonkey and Linux.

I have an Sendmail/Cyrus mail server setup. I had been using a StartSSL (now revoked) certificate on the SMTP server. Seamonkey V2.48 quite rightly rejected connections to the SMTP server as the CA's certificate is revoked but gave a very obscure error. Something along the lines of "Cannot connect to SMTP server due to an unknown reason".

I traced the TCP/IP dialog with Wireshark which is where I saw the Certificate Revoked in the trace, which reminded me of the StartSSL certificate on the SMTP server.

I've since updated the certificate to another vendor and all is well. But it would be good if there were a way to make the error from Seamonkey more helpful.

Many thanks

Ken
