What's up?

<https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/>
doesn't check plugins anymore, just promotes Firefox.

Am I SOL if I want to use SeaMonkey?

That page has not been kept up to date for some time now so it couldn't be relied on. It told me Java 131 was up to date but it wasn't which I didn't realize until I read a thread about the new 141 Java at dslreports.com Security forum. I had been using the outdated version on SeaMonkey and Fx 45.9 ESR for a WEEK after the new version was out because I trusted the Mozilla Plugins Update page. A few days after I installed 141, Oracle issued a newer version, 144, and again Mozilla's Check Plugins pagewas claiming 141 was up to date when it was not.

I think it is premature and even irresponsible (since SeaMonkey and Fx ESR users probably rely on it) of Mozilla to get rid of the check page. I even went there on Fx 45.9 ESR a few minutes ago and the page did not even recognize Firefox45.9 ESR! You will just need to check on your own periodically for Plugin updates or bookmark a forum like the Security forum at dslreports that has a new thread whenever Flash or Java have new versions. Here's a link to the latest Java thread http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31536089-Java-SE-8u144.

It was so convenient to be able to check plugin status on that page for many years.
