The point of testing in safe mode or with a fresh profile is to rule
some possibilities in or out, as a troubleshooting step. If the problem
persists under these conditions, we need to look elsewhere; if it
disappears, there's something wrong with the items you disabled. From
there, we can narrow it down by adding some items back and retesting.
