Actually, my reply was based on using Thunderbird. However, SeaMonkey uses the same MailNews Core that Thunderbird uses. I do see an icon for each newsgroup. It resembles a file folder upside-down (fold at the top, open at the bottom) with a note attached with a pushpin. I never see this icon change for new messages. -- David E.
