Is there a way to get SeaMonkey to open in two different modes?
Mode 1 - newsgroups only
Mode 2 - eMail only
SeaMonkey operates differently when both eMail newsgroups are
both in the Name pane. On a different PC I use SeaMonkey for
newsgroups only and it operates they way I need it. On this PC I
have eMail and newsgroups and SeaMonkey inhibits me.
If not, I will have to abandon SeaMonkey.
Your problem description is unclear to me.
I've been using essentially the same setup from days of Netscape
(a precursor
to Mozilla Suite which became SeaMonkey).
My Mail/News setup has always been essentially the same.
1. The left pane displays one folder for:
a. each of my email accounts.
b. a default SeaMonkey folder labeled "Local Folders".
c. each of the USENET newsgroup servers to which I am
subscribed
2. The right side is divided into two sub-panes:
a. the upper displays the subject, sender, date, etc. of
each message in the
folder highlighted in the left pane.
b. the lower pane displays the text of whichever message
selected in the upper.
I use neither web based email nor newsgroups.
How do your machines differ from what I've described?
HTH
