I'm using SM 2.32.1. on Windows 7. Is it time to move to Windows 10
or should I wait for a newer SM? Thanks. Stan.
My usual practice with a new OS, and I recommend it to all my friends, is to
wait a
bit and let all the eager beavers, uh, "early adopters," shake out the bugs.
After
a few months, when things settle down and you can be confident that it's stable,
you can upgrade.
What's the hurry? You have a system that works fine and M$ is not about to end
support for Win7.
Had SM on Win 8 and up graded to Win 10 and SM continues on AOK. (there are
pressures to end support for Win 7 - we'll see)
If SM stops supporting 7 they definitely won't like what happens. At the moment SM is
a seemingly threadbare project with some demand (judging by posts) for new versions.
Cancel 7 support and what you'll see is a threadbare project with echoes where the
user base used to be. It will be years (say, 2020) before 7 ceases being a
significant OS.
Speaking for myself, too much hardware and software I have no intention of rebuying
dies past 7 for lack of support.
