Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll report back as to whether it was
successful.

Just an update: So far, no go. I still get the 'incompatible' message. I might try Paul B. Gallagher suggestion, ie use old version that works (if I can find one), then transfer e-mail from old version to a new version.

A further update.....
I've re-done the editing etc, and this time IET installed OK (I presumably got it right). The Tools drop-down menu shows IET, and IET's subsequent menus look correct. Next step if to try to import some WLM .eml files.

Just a final report:
With install.rdf modified as per Hawker's instructions, and the extracted files and folders from importexporttools-2.8.0.4-tb.xpi zipped up again, IET installs and works perfectly with SM 2.24. It can import the complete folder (and the subfolders it contains) where WLM's exported emails have been saved.

Just a bit of information for anyone doing it....
You can't import to a SM account. Instead, you have to import into a folder in an account - so it's best to create a folder specifically for the purpose, and call it (say) 'WLM imports'.

However, I seem to be having a problem when using MozBackup with Seamonkey - but I'll raise that in another thread.
