Not necessary. Just use IMAP. Yahoo does not advertise this, but they DO
give free IMAP access in order to be usable on smartphones. I have a
couple free Yahoo accounts set up that way with no problems.

Parameters are as follows:

Username: yahoo email address ([email protected] or similar)

IMAP server:
imap.mail.yahoo.com
port 993
connection security: SSL/TSL
Authentication: Normal Password

SMTP server:
smpt.mail.yahoo.com
port 465
connection security: SSL/TSL
authentication: Normal Password
