Man, do I feel stupid... I have noticed this thing for a long, long
time. I tried all sorts of things. The *day* I decide to file a bug on
it... somehow I can't reproduce it anymore. I just cannot explain it. I
saw it happening just *yesterday*. I used to be able to make it happen
quite consistently. But now it's no longer there. And no, I haven't
updated Seamonkey recently.

The only explanation I can imagine is that it was some sort of weird
server bug in Wikia, which was fixed now. Perhaps it just took too long
to serve the custom icons, and SM gave up and loaded /favicon.ico
