Somehow a plain window got created with the folder name at the top

I have no idea how this got created. I knew the folder as I had been
using it off and on in couple of programs. I couldn't find a way to
close or otherwise get rid of this thing. After messing around with it a
while, I right clicked and got a choice to close the window. I think it
referred to it as a toolbar
It did not disappear when closing and restarting Windows.
Anyone know anything about this unusual occurrence?

Stan, would it be possible for you to post a screen shot somewhere, so
those i n the know can see what you are talking about??
Sorry, too late. I finally discovered I could right click on it and
close it. Interesting that I was working with two programs......
Ulead's Photo Impact and Photo Album........... programs I have worked
with for years.
I looked through the menus of both programs but didn't see anything that
would do this.
It looked liked this: A window with no headers or menus. The window
could be varied in shape by dragging the edges. The data within the
window was the folder name and the file names. You could click on both
the folder name and the file names and open the item (in my case, in
SeaMonkey). There was a bar at the top of the window so it could be
dragged like a toolbar to down the side or across the top of the screen.
The window was totally independent of anything else on the screen.
