Hi,

As I see it, the correct way to use roaming profiles on Windows is to have the settings in %APPDATA% and the data in the homeDirectory. This way, the settings roam with the user, the user connects to their data at each logon, but the data is not replicated. In the context of backup, the data is backed up along with all their other data. If you're not on a network, homeDirectory is effectively "my documents".

In SM1.1 I had it set up this way

%appdata%\Mozilla (pluginreg.dat, registry.dat)
%homedrive%%homepath%\Mozilla\Default\ipu5ckl7.slt

Reading this page

https://wiki.mozilla.org/SeaMonkey:New_for_2.0

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles\<Profile name>\

it looks like it wants to migrate the existing profile into the roaming location _including_ all my data (email etc), which seems wrong to me.

Is there a proper way to keep the settings separated from the data? In not, can I move the whole Mozilla profile back to the homeDirectory after the migration and run it from there?
