Have you tried if it behaves the same in a second new profile?
(use the Profile Manager to create/manage additional profiles)

Hi Martin, that was the second thing I did after trying deleting all
bookmarks ... Lastly, I tried installing 1.1.18 but its Mail component
does not display correctly. First time I have this problem with an
upgrade. But this is a separate issue, the favicon problem was still there.
