Just to note: The instructions say to edit prefs.js, not about:config.
When you say "I don't think I'm editing about:config correctly", were
you referring to those instructions?

The instructions also mention about:config at the beginning.

Did you close SeaMonkey, before editing prefs.js?

What about quick launch? Did you close that?
Are you sure you edited the prefs.js for the correct profile folder?
Did you make sure to find out which server number Local Folders is, and not just assume it was server2? Did you cross-check your current prefs.js with the prefs listed in the page, to see which ones weren't changed?
