Gary, Many-thanks for that extensive-testing.
My profuse-apologies.. My bad!
Deleting system-install and installing /home/user/ was unsuccessful,
but BASH reported problems with the Lightning-extension.
Temporarily-uninstalling Lightning restored full demarcated
print-preview/printing to both PDF and ps (printer).
I assume Lightning will need to integrate with aBook/Contacts, for
appointments and notifications, etcetera.
Appreciated the assistance (and impetus). Barry.
Temporarily-disabling Lightning via Add-on-Manager, restores
aBook/Contact print/print-preview, so uninstalling is unnecessary.
Ah... thanks for the followup. Have you actually got lightning working
in 2.0b1pre? I get a:
"Lightning 1.0pre could not be installed because it is not compatible
with SeaMonkey 2.0a3"

No working Lightning at this time, only the experimental nightly-build for monitoring progress with the menus, panes, selections, preferences and suchlike. Lightning's install.rdf gives both maximum and minimum Lightning-1.0pre-version, as 2.0b1pre, so you are correct about incompatibility.

Tracking KaiRo, Callek, Neil and Philip's utterances and bugs would give you a better handle on the status-quo, but I feel they are making great progress, albeit while still needing some serious assistance in the tasks.

So far as I know, there is still a great deal more underlying-code needed to enable calendar windows, etcetera. *"Bug 413385* <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413385> - Implement Customizable Toolbars in SeaMonkey MailNews" appears to be the blocker at the moment (as Lightning also depends on this feature). Barry.
