Importing LP value from the location database is a good idea. I would like to see a checkbox in the location panel. Either default-on "Light pollution data from database" or default-off "Ignore light pollution data". The switch must be remembered in config.ini.
The user dialog to change LP is of course still required, as well as importing from landscape.ini. A recent thought of mine was to couple the brightness of the new lightscape component to the light pollution index. However, there is a drawback: foreground streetlights are always blindingly bright. Reducing the brightness will cause dimmer lamps. So currently I prefer two landscapes (with/without lightscape) in such cases - the brightness of the lightscape is indeed a property of the place. G.
