This is EXACTLY the application which seems sufficient for deep-sky
photography beginners or if limited by air freight costs. GOTO (telescope
plugin), show sensor frame (ocular plugin), and use an autoguider for the
rest. Perfect for DSLR. Dedicated cooled-CCD users usually have their own
software with more catalogs, and some larger power supply...

Maybe have some user-defined catalog support with interactive editing?
(yet another plugin, "obs-planner"/"obs-log"? Prepare objects while
connnected to Simbad, store in own database for later retrieval?) Just an
idea, no time...

I was in Namibia in July, with Atom netbook, DSLR & GOTO scope. Almost
perfect, just missed the search for IC (unexpected) and Barnard (expected)
then. Alex has included IC meanwhile!

Kind regards,
Georg
