You can shutdown STAFProc (e.g. STAF local SHUTDOWN SHUTDOWN) and then 
make changes (e.g. TRUST LEVEL, etc) to the STAF.cfg file, and then start 
STAFProc (as a service or otherwise) and the new STAF configuration file 
will be in effect.  This works for any operating system.

Note that you can also dynamically change trust levels (while STAFProc is 
running without restarting STAFProc) using the TRUST service.  For 
example: 

STAF local TRUST SET MACHINE server1.company.com LEVEL 5

Any trust level changes made dynamically (via the TRUST service) will NOT 
be in effect when STAFProc is restarted so to make these changes 
permanent, you need to modify the STAF.cfg file as well.  For more

Subject:        [staf-users] Windows reboot required for changing trust 
level in        STAF.cfg?



It seems like I am unable to make alterations to the trust level 
configuration in STAF.cfg on Windows machines without rebooting.

I make the change, restart the STAF service (running STAFProc as a service 
on these boxes) and I am still unable to do PROCESS commands remotely. 
After a reboot, it works fine. 

I'm not seeing this problem on Linux platforms, only Windows. Is this 
expected or am I missing something?
