Get STAF Version: STAF local MISC VERSION
Get the version of the STAX service or any other external STAF service:
STAF local <Service Name> VERSION
But you can write a program or shell script that submits the above STAF
service requests to get the version of STAF and the versions of all the
external STAF services registered on a system and return that information
and then you can use a single STAF PROCESS START request to run that
program.
You could have your program submit uses STAF APIs (for Java, C/C++,
Python, Perl, or Tcl) to submit a "STAF local SERVICE LIST SERVICES"
request and then for each service name that does not have "<Internal>"
specified for the "Library" (which means it is an external STAF service),
you could submit a "STAF local <Service Name> VERSION request for that
service name to get the version of that external STAF service.
