STAFProc is a daemon that runs in the background. It is not an
interactive console. When STAFProc is running, from another command
prompt,, or from a program, you can submit STAF service requests to the
"local" machine or to a remote machine if it is also running the STAFProc
daemon.
I recommend that you take the STAF Education provided at
http://staf.sourceforge.net/education.php as it is intended to familiarize
new users with the STAF and STAX tools and to provide hands-on experience
with the tools. I also suggest that you look at the "Getting Started with
STAF" guide available via the STAF Documentation webpage at
http://staf.sourceforge.net/docs.php as it gets you started using STAF and
guides you through many common tasks that are performed when using STAF,
including a detailed examination of a demo which shows how you can
instrument and leverage STAF in your testing. The STAF User's Guide
(available via this web page) provides more detailed information about
STAF and the various STAF services provided.

Subject: [staf-users] How to operate STAF?
Hi,
Can you please let me know how operate STAF? This is really confusing.
When I start the STAF through START-Programs on windows machine STAF
starts successfully without any error message, but on the newly displayed
prompt window I am not able to type any command! Can you please help me
through this? Also it will be great if you give me an example of any
application which is automated using STAF.
