Hi madhu, Presently we're also using STAF for testing network devices. Our testing scenario is same as yours.
We made 1 separate machine as controller(STAF + STAX) which actually issues commands to Host PCs Host PCs (STAF) just execute return the result. We attached a Serial cable from the device to controller and wrote a script to control DUT(Device Under Test). I think this should fix your problem. Take care of Host names b'coz without Hostname resolution STAF will be very slow or sometimes STAF commands may not work. My requirement is use the STAF tool to test my embedded board. This board has gateway solution, the test cases like sending traffic from one of the board LAN PC to WAN side PC. The test cases are like network related test cases. The secondary requirements are need GUI support(need to install STAX to support GUI?), arranging and managing the test cases. After searching in internet about STAF, I came to know that STAF need to install in all test PCs and devices. But in my case I cannot install STAF in board, I can install test LAN and WAN PC. Is that fulfill my requirement if I don't install STAF tool in board? Please reply me. Thanks & Regards, Madhu
