It is not currently possible to access the cron ID when the request is
being submitted. It would be fairly simple for us to add this, so go ahead
and open a feature request. We could add a "cronID" Python variable (and
an equivalent "eventManagerID" variable for the EventManager service, which
has the same issue), and then you could reference the variable in the
PYTHONMACHINE, PYTHONSERVICE, and/or PYTHONREQUEST options when registering
with the Cron service, and then pass the cronID to the request you are
executing. Then you would have access to the cronID in the executing
request, and it could disable the cronID.

Thanks,
David

Subject: [staf-users] Getting the ID of a cron job

Hi all,

Anyone know of the best way to get the ID of the current running cron
job? I've got a test that is started via the STAF cron service and
would like to disable it on error. I can do this at the moment with a
stafcmd but I have hard coded the cron ID.

Thanks,

Matt
