I already responded that you have a typo in response to you posting the
same question on the STAF Help forum. See my response there.
Note that you only need to post to one forum or mailing list as all are

[staf-users] Errors with SET and Ubuntu 8.10
I installed STAF on Ubuntu 8.10. The installer added the necessary path
information and what not into the /etc/profile. I edited the
/etc/rc.local file to boot STAF upon login.
I then edited STAF.cfg to include the following (replacing actual
user/pass):
"# Grant access to all machines and users
trust user *://* level 5
#set default user name and default shell
SET DEFAULTHAUTHUSERNAME username DEFAULTAUTHPASSWORD password
SET DEFAULTSHELL "su 5u -c %C""
When I run /usr/local/staf/bin/STAFProc I get the following error:
"Error on SET statement, SET DEFAULTAUTHUSERNAME username
DEFAULTAUTHPASSWORD password You may have no more then 0 arguemtn (s). You
specified 1 argument (s). The first excess argument is,
DEFAULTAUTHUSERNAME username.
Error reading config file."
If I remove the SET parameters then I no longer get the error and STAF
will start normally. Obviously this isn't a fix as I need those
parameters in there. I have another computer with Ubuntu 8.10 on it that
has the exact same parameters in the STAF.cfg file and it has no issues.
I've put SET in around 20 computers with STAF and have never seen this be
an issue.
Has anyone seen this issue before, or know some steps to try?
