Paul,

Note that you could also build STAF yourself on your AIX machine using
xlC.5 (and setting OS_NAME=aix433) and use the latest STAF source file
(e.g. STAFV335-src.tar.gz) if you want to use the latest version of STAF
(as there have been many bug fixes, etc since STAF V3.3.0).

See the STAF Developer's Guide at
http://staf.sourceforge.net/current/stafdg.html for more information on
how to build STAF.

Ah, I didn't realize the aix433 wasn't just for aix 4.3.3. Good to know,
thank you!

Re: [staf-users] Newest STAF (AIX 5.1) with xlC 5x

All of the STAF 2.x AIX builds work with AIX 4.3.3 or later and are built
with xlC 5. Starting with STAF 3.0.0, we started providing 2 builds of
STAF:

STAF3xx-aix433.which works on AIX 4.3.3 or later and is built with xlC 5
STAF3xx-aix which works on AIX 5.1 or later and is built with xlC 6.

However, STAF 3.3.0 is the last build we provided for aix433 (our AIX
4.3.3 build machine bit the dust).

Thanks,
David

[staf-users] Newest STAF (AIX 5.1) with xlC 5x

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone (specifically the developers :) ) knew what the
latest version of STAF is that suppots AIX 5.1 with xlC 5 still installed.
STAF 2.6.2 works, but I was wondering when the switch occurred in the STAF
builds.

Thanks,
Paul Ellsworth
