Meanwhile I found some info in STAFProc console from the failed "STAX HELP" and the "SHUTDOWN SHUTDOWN" I did after the failure:

Maybe, there is a problem regarding this JRE, as another Machine running the same STAF/STAX, but Java 1.6.0_12 doesn't show this problem. But it is another linux version also.
