Are you sure that your AIX 5.3 machine is running a 64-bit kernel which is
needed in order to run a 64-bit version of STAF? To determine the kernel
type (32-bit or 64-bit) that is currently running on a AIX machine, run
command:
prtconf -k
Note that STAF334-aix64.tar.gz is for AIX machines running a 64-bit kernel
type and STAF334-aix.tar.gz is for AIX machines running a 32-bit kernel
type.
If you used the correct STAF installer file for the kernel type on your
AIX machine, then provide the following information:
1) What are the exact steps that you used to install STAF using the
STAF334-aix64.tar.gz file? Did you untar it to a temporary directory and
then run STAFInst to install STAF to /usr/local/staf?
2) What are the exact steps that you used to start STAFProc? Did you set
the STAF environment variables correctly before starting STAFProc:
cd /usr/local/staf
. ./STAFEnv.sh

[staf-users] Unable to start STAFProc on AIX 5.3
After installing STAF (STAF333-aix64.tar.gz) on a AIX 5.3 machine, I fail
running STAF, getting this message: ?killed?
I?m also try to install STAF334 and got the same error.
BTW: I?m own some servers of AIX 5.3 on part of them STAF work without any
problem.
