We don't have any Ubuntu systems so I'm not sure what else to suggest,
other than to try building STAF on your Ubuntu x86_64 system. The
instructions can be found in the STAF Devloper's Guide
(http://staf.sourceforge.net/current/stafdg.html).

For the "Unterminated quoted string" error, can you try changing the first
line of the shell script from #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash ?

For the "can not execute the binary file" error:
1) what is the output of "uname -a"
2) what are the contents of /usr/local/staf/install.properties

[staf-users] Problem during Setup STAF on the linux64

Hi guys,
I am setuping the STAF on the ubuntu 8.10 64bit Home Edition.
The STAF extract from the STAF332-setup-linux-amd64-NoJVM.bin
Using ./startSTAFProc.sh, I foud these in the nohup.output:
"/usr/local/staf/bin/STAFProc: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted
string"

The startSTAFProc.sh is consists of two:
1. Env set: I have run it separately only to find it fails to setup the
environment. I have added the export things in my ~/.bashrc to pass this
problem.
2. STAFProc: I have run it with the user which setup the STAF, but got
"can not execute the binary file". When I sudo to execute the STAFProc,
the same string problem occurred.

Any idea about this?
