This is expected behavior. Only a subset of our STAF platforms include
support for Perl, Tcl, and Python (and note that we do not currently
provide STAF Perl support for Linux AMD64). The STAF User's Guide for the
language will tell you the specific platforms that are supported when you
installl STAF:
For Perl:

STAF Perl support is only provided in the STAF installer files for Windows
32-bit, Windows AMD64, Linux 32-bit, or Mac OS X. STAF Perl support is not
provided in the STAF installer files for other operating systems.
For Tcl:
http://staf.sourceforge.net/current/STAFTcl.htm
STAF Tcl support is only provided in the STAF installer files for Windows
32-bit or Linux 32-bit and only works with Tcl 8.0 - 8.3. STAF Tcl support
is not provided in the STAF installer files for other operating systems.
For Python:
http://staf.sourceforge.net/current/STAFPython.htm
STAF Python support is only provided in the STAF installer files for
Windows 32-bit, Linux 32-bit, and FreeBSD (i386*). STAF Python support is
not provided in the STAF installer files for other operating systems.
Note that in our next release of STAF (V3.3.2 which should be available
next month) we will be providing STAF Perl support for additional
platforms when you install STAF (including Perl 5.8 and Perl 5.10 on Linux
AMD64). For now, after installing STAF on Linux AMD64, you can download
the libPLSTAF.so file for Linux AMD64 from one of the following support
requests:

[staf-users] Full install doesn't install Perl for
STAF331-setup-linux-amd64.bin
Hi,
I’m trying to install STAF on a 64 bit Fedora 8 system using a console
install.
The installer confirms that the Install Set is Full (Recommended) and
runs to completion.
STAF works correctly from the command line and the JSTAF test works, but
the Perl .so and .pm files
are not present. ( likewise no Tcl or Python support ).
Is this a known issue? Unfortunately, the 64 bit .tar.gz file does not
include the Perl files either.
