First, you need to know what kind of 64-bit system your Windows machine
is. My guess is that it is an AMD64 machine, not an IA64 machine. If so,
and you want to use a 64-bit JVM for your STAF Java support, t hen you
would install STAF using STAF330-setup-winamd64.exe (not STAF
330-setup-win64.exe which is for Windows IA64). Otherwise, if you want to
use a 32-bit JVM for your STAF Java support, then you can install the
32-bit version of STAF for Windows (STAF330-setup-win32.exe). Note that
you can check the value of the PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE environment
variable on Windows to see if you're running an AMD64 or IA64 version of
Windows.
A STAF install does not add a Java executable to the system path. Java is
not required to run STAFProc (core STAF is a C++ application). However,
if you have modified your STAF.cfg file to register some STAF Java
services, then you must have Java installed and added to the system path,
or you can specify the location of the Java executable you want the STAF
Java service to use when registering it in the STAF.cfg file by specifying
OPTION JVM=<Directory where Java is installed/bin/java.exe> OPTION
JVMName=<JVMName>.
The InstallAnywhere installation package does include a JVM but that JVM
is intended for use only by InstallAnywhere to install STAF.

[staf-users] STAF 3.3.0 installation problems on Windows2003 64-bit
Hello,
On a 64-bit Windows Servere 2003 system, STAF330-setup-win64.exe fail to
install giving this message:
The image file %Temp%\1\I1217850616\Windows\resource\jre\bin\java.exe is
valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine.
I installed STAF330-setup-win32.exe but after running STAFEnv.bat, running
STAFProc complains that java.exe is not in the system path. I had to set
it manually, shouldn't InstallAnywhere do this for me?
Thanks
