I have a task scheduled to run D:\STAF\bin\STAFProc.exe at system
startup, but when I reboot the machine and log in, the STAFProc
process isn't running. In the Task Scheduler, the task's status is
"Ready".

I've checked the event log, and I don't see any error message related to this.

I've tried running the task from the task scheduler by selecting the
task and clicking run. Task Scheduler then says the task is running,
but the STAFProc process isn't visible in Task Manager, indicating the
process didn't actually start. If I run and end the task repeatedly,
I'll occasionally see the STAFProc process briefly in the Task Manager
before it goes away again.

I changed the task so it redirects the output of STAFProc.exe to a
file, but the file never gets created.
If I run STAFProc.exe on the command line, it starts just fine.
I verified on the command line that the file redirection using the
exact command from the task scheduler works; staf starts normally, and
all the expected text is in the output file.

The task is set to run with highest privileges.
The task is set to use the SYSTEM user account.
The task is set to "Run whether the user is logged on or not."
The task is set to "Wake the computer to run this task" (which shouldn't matter)

I am running:
Microsoft(R) Windows Vistaâ„¢ Business
Version 6.0.6000 Build 6000
System Type x64-based PC

I was having this problem with STAF 3.2.3, so I installed 3.2.5, and
I'm having the same problem.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
D
