First, I would highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest versions of
STAF (V3.2.5) and STAX. (V3.2.2) as they contain many bug fixes and there
have been some significant improvements in STAX when errors occur, etc.
When this problem occurs, does any request that you submit to the STAX
service fail (e.g. with RC 6)? For example: STAF staxservicemachine
STAX VERSION
Is there more information in the JVM log for the STAX service? e.g.
C:\STAF\data\STAF\lang\java\jvm\<JVMName>\JVMLog.1
If so, then generally that means that the JVM that the STAX service is
using has died and you have to unregister the STAX service and then
re-register the STAX service (e.g. via the SERVICE service's REMOVE and
ADD comands) or you can shut down and restart STAF if you prefer.

[staf-users] Sudden appearance of RC 6 when starting STAX Monitor
I have STAF 3.0.2/ STAX 3.0.1 installed on Win2k3. I?ve been using this
combo for quite a while. Recently, the following error is appearing when I
start STAXMon.jar.

I have STAF installed as a service. When I start the STAF service, I can
start the STAXmon.jar with no errors. If I log off my console session, and
log on again, I cannot start the STAXMon.jar. RC 6 is returned when the
STAX LIST SETTINGS is executed during initialization. The STAF service is
running and responds to ping successfully.
I have another machine with the latest STAF/STAX installed and the same
behavior is occurring.
The Java version is: java version "1.4.2_07?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
