The da116 and da123 diskar are probably bad but it would be nice if the ciss controller would handle bad drives a bit better in general. I had to replace the HP H241 controller with an LSI SAS3816 controller on my other "big" HP server since that H241/ciss controller would go into a loop and just spew out retry errors every day or so.
