What the tutorial implements is: -end users register with kamailio with a challenge/response -if succesful: forward the register request to asterisk -asterisk accepts the register without any authentication If you did everything that is mentioned in the tutorial, it should work regardless of versions used for kamailio/asterisk(if you use chan_sip).
