I think this is like the module works currently. There is no detailed feedback
from the core and DB module about the nature of the error right now. You can
set a smaller inactivity interval to have faster recovery. There are possible
extensions, e.g. like a error threshold that needs to be reached to consider a
database really as dead, but this is probably a feature requests.
